On May 21-22, 2026 the Norwegian Chamber of Commerce in Latvia together with the Norwegian Embassy in Riga made a two days Regional Visit to Saldus and Liepāja.
During these two inspiring days we explored some of the region’s most dynamic businesses, development projects and business parks, while strengthening connections with fellow professionals and entrepreneurs.
In Saldus we visited Koda Manufacturing and Karlsberg, gaining valuable insights into their innovation, operations, production processes and international business cooperation.
In Liepāja, the programme combined insights into business, regional development and culture with the following highlights:
• A guided Old Town tour led by Gatis Ginters
• Networking dinner with Liepāja business representatives at the historic Parka Paviljons
• Visit to historic fishing vessel Ørnfløy that has arrived to Liepāja from Trondheim in Norway
• Visits to VIA-S modular houses, Brimer Liepāja, the Port Area and the Liepāja Special Economic Zone
• A meeting with Liepāja City Mayor Gunārs Ansiņš and Liepaja Special Economic Zone Authority CEO Uldis Hmielevskis, along with a presentation about Liepāja as the European Capital of Culture 2027
• A visit to two business parks in Liepāja owned, managed and developed by an investment holding BALTU Investments: Vecās Ostmalas Biznesa Parks and Northside Business Park
What stood out most was the strong sense of ambition, openness and collaboration across the region. Liepāja continues to strengthen its position as an important hub for business, innovation and international partnerships.
Special thanks to the NCCL board member Gatis Ginters (Brimer Liepāja) for organising such an extensive and engaging programme and for being an excellent guide throughout the visit.
We would also like to sincerely thank all the companies, organisations and institutions we visited for their warm hospitality, insightful presentations, engaging discussions and excellent networking opportunities.
We look forward to our future cooperation!
