Female Focus with Agnese Lāce and Marja Mortensson

Our latest Female Focus Business Networking Luncheon gathering took place at the beautiful Hotel & Restaurant NEIBURGS, where we had the privilege of welcoming two remarkable women whose professional and personal journeys opened up different perspectives on leadership, identity, culture and the courage to make a difference.

Agnese Lāce, former Minister of Culture of Latvia and Member of Parliament, reflected on the experiences that have shaped her values and perspectives, highlighting the importance of inclusive thinking and responsible leadership in building the society we want to live in.

Marja Mortensson, internationally acclaimed South Sámi yoiker and singer, shared her reflections on identity, belonging and the importance of keeping cultural roots alive. Her story emphasised the value of preserving cultural heritage, passing it on from one generation to the next and giving a voice to stories that deserve to be heard.

Established in 2014 by the Norwegian Chamber of Commerce in Latvia and the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Latvia (SCCL) with the support of the Norwegian and Swedish Embassies, Female Focus has grown into a well-established platform. Guided by Scandinavian values, it brings together women from different professional backgrounds to explore leadership, entrepreneurship, personal and professional growth and the many dimensions of balancing work and life.

We are deeply grateful to the Norwegian Embassy in Riga for its generous support and for helping make this event possible, as well as to the Nordic Council of Ministers' Office in Latvia for facilitating the participation of our distinguished guest speaker.

And, of course, thank you the Female Focus community – our members, partners, friends and speakers – whose continued engagement, curiosity and willingness to share make this initiative what it is.
