Snorre Karkkonen Svensson takes a seat on the NCCL Board

10 January 2021

Snorre Karkkonen Svensson, who is the founder and co-owner of the House of Languages has joined the NCCL Board in December 2020, after Lennart Rasmussen-Lagnehag, representing the Nordic Choice Hotels' branch in Latvia, resigned from the NCCL Board member position.

Lennart left the Board at his own request to pursue new ventures and though we are sad to part ways, we wish him the very best of luck with his future endeavors and we want to give Lennart our highest recommendations as we are confident that he would make a great asset to any company and/or Board.

Snorre Karkkonen Svensson was invited by the NCCL Board to take the vacant seat as a recipient of the second highest number of votes in the previous Annual General meeting, which took place in April, 2020.

"Having lived half of my life in Norway and half of my life in Latvia, I have good knowledge and understanding of both societies, values, languages and cultures. Five years after I came to Latvia, I started to conduct business here in 2003 establishing Centre for Nordic languages and culture. Now, together with my colleagues at House of Languages, we are developing ambitious projects and activities to enhance positive change in society. One of the main fields where I would contribute to NCCL is through my both practical experience and theoretical knowledge regarding languages - language learning, language teaching, language testing, as well as translation and interpreting, which all are important factors of a successful business for many of the members," says Snorre about his motivation to serve on the board.
