NCCL welcomes MOT Latvija as a new Associate Member

19 October 2020

We are excited to welcome MOT Latvija as a new associate member at the Norwegian Chamber of Commerce in Latvia!

The initiative to start MOT was taken by the former Olympians and Norwegian speed-skaters Atle Vårvik and Johann Olav Koss after the Olympic Winter Games in 1994. Their motivation was to prevent social problems in society by implementing values and attitudes that would make youth better at taking care of each other and better at making conscious choices.

MOT has a passion for strengthening youth's robustness, mastery of life, mental health, awareness and courage - courage to live, courage to care and courage to say no. The organization strengthens youth's robustness through various educational and engamement programs in schools. MOT promotes safe class environments where all are included.

There are more than 130 thousand youth involved in MOT programs all over the world, including in Norway, Denmark, South Africa, Thailand and Latvia. Since MOT Latvia started in 2016 there are 40 schools, 156 volunteer MOT coaches and more than 7500 youth involved in the MOT program in Latvia.

"MOT's roots are in Norway. MOT represents universal values close to everyone. We would like to be closer to the Norwegian business and see additional benefits. We look forward finding new comrades and supporters and are ready to share our vision for a safer and more inclusive society," says Katrīne Judovica, MOT Latvia Chairperson of the Board..
