NCCL Completes 2nd Bike Ride with Focus on Smart City Solutions
26 August 2021
Many thanks to all participants of the 2nd NCCL Bike Ride that took place on August 24 with a focus on Smart City solutions, Livability and Sustainability of Riga! The trip was both informative and fun, with teams competing for valuable prizes sponsored by Moller Baltic Import (representating Audi and Volkswagen brands in the Baltics)!
Check out the gallery of pictures from the Ride!
The Bike Ride included a visit to Origo and Origo One - the most recent development project in Riga that has obtained the world's leading building sustainability assessment method's BREEAM certification with the highest final rating among all shopping centres in the Baltic States.
The trip also included a visit to Jaunā Teika - home of several NCCL members - including the DNB Shared Service Centre, Gjensidige Latvija, Norwegian Resources Latvia, TietoEVRY and Global Consulting. There, Viesturs Celmins, Managing Director of VEFRESH provided an informative brief about the Jaunā Teika development and its community. (Did you know that 43% of Latvia's IT exports are generated in this area?) The tour was concluded at the recently renovated Mežaparks open-air stage with a guided tour by Liene Kubiļus, Director of the Northern Riga Culture Association, of the new facilities and a picnic for the ride participants.
Many thanks also to Caffeine for treating the ride participants to a delicious coffee at the start of the trip! And thanks to Arté Pastry for the exceptionally beautiful gifts to the winning and the runner-up teams!< Back to news
