Latvia exported record EUR 1.275 billion worth of goods in September

Latvia exported EUR 1.275 billion worth of goods in September 2020, which is a new monthly record, according to the preliminary data released on Tuesday by the Central
Statistical Bureau (CSB). In the first nine months of 2020, Latvia exported EUR 9.457 billion worth of goods, down 1.3 percent from the respective period a year ago, while
Latvia's nine-month imports fell 8.1 percent on year to EUR 10.9 billion.

Latvia's foreign trade turnover in January-September added up to EUR 20.36 billion in current prices, which is a 5.1 percent drop from the first nine months of 2019. In September 2020, Latvia's exports of goods grew by 18.7 percent from August and increased by 13 percent from September 2019 to EUR 1.275 billion, beating the previous monthly record, which Latvia set in November 2018 when its exports were worth EUR 1.218 billion. Latvian imports grew by 15.9 percent month-on-month and rose 3.5 percent year-on-year to EUR 1.428 billion in September 2020.
