AAS Gjensidige Baltic operates in Baltic insurance market already for 15 years and provides all non-life insurance services to both business and private customers.

Since fall of 2006 Company’s only owner is Norwegian insurer Gjensidige Forsikring, but until then it was a part of Parex Group. The acquisition of Company was carried out in accordance with Gjensidige’s strategy to expand in the Nordic region, including the Baltic States, which are considered to be a natural expansion of the Nordic insurance market.

It was decided not to look for a new name in the Baltic States but to use the Norwegian name Gjensidige, as it carries serious experience and stable values. Thus the company clearly shows its belonging to the Norwegian Gjensidige Forsikring and underlines its presence in all three Baltic States.

In 2008, Gjensidige Baltic ranked the third in non-life insurance market and within twelve months of the mentioned year the total sum of written insurance premiums exceeded LVL 46 million that is 24% more than in a previous year.
