17 March 2021

Join us on March 17 at 15:00 for a online discussion with Latvia's Auditor General Rolands Irklis regarding Latvia's Post-Crisis Damage Control and Strategy for Future.

As the fight against the COVID-pandemic has lead to an extended State of Emergency situation, in the discussion we will look at the strengths and weaknesses it has exposed in Latvia's public sector, assess what will be their long-term impact and discuss how to come out of the crisis stronger and more efficient, not the other way around.

Although one month in office is a relatively short period, Mr Rolands Irklis who assumed the role of Latvia's Auditor General in January of this year, is willing to share his assessment of Latvian Government's response to COVID-19 pandemic and present his outlook and plans for the future. Joined by Mārtiņš Āboliņš, Economist at Citadele Bank and member of Latvian Fiscal Discipline Council, and Antra Zālīte, Chairman of the Board at Visma Enterprise, which services the public and private sector in making operations more efficient through IT software solutions, the discussion will focus on the long term solutions for mitigating the negative effects of the COVID-pandemic, increase public sector's efficiency, transparency and trust in public sector in Latvia.
