EUR 102.1 million has been allocated to a number of cooperation programmes with Latvia through the EEA and Norway Grants. These programmes are designed to strengthen cooperation between Norway and Latvia and to promote social and economic development in Latvia.
Cooperation in the area of justice and home affairs will be continued, with a focus on the correctional services and the fight against economic crime. Regional Baltic cooperation will be reestablished in the field of research and education. Other key areas are climate and environment, local development, culture and civil society.
Seven Norwegian agencies are involved as partners in developing and implementing the programmes, and are providing assistance with the recruitment of Norwegian project partners.
